Edit PDF text
Click any line of text in your PDF, type the correction and download a new PDF. The old words are removed from the file, not just covered.
1. Open a PDF
Choose a text-based PDF up to 50 MB and 300 pages.
2. Change the text
Choose a line here or click it on the page, then press Enter to edit.
Find and replace in the whole PDF
Finds text within single lines. A word split across two lines or styles is not matched.
3. Review and download
When this is off, or when a font cannot be measured, the old words are covered with a box in the sampled background colour. Covered words can still be found by copying or searching the PDF.
- BHARIT finds the exact letters of the line you change in the page content, removes them and writes your text in the same place, size and colour. The rest of the line does not move, so a much shorter or longer replacement can leave a gap or overlap; use “Shrink to fit” or edit the neighbouring line too.
- Replacement text uses the nearest standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) because most PDFs embed only the letters they use. Hindi and other Devanagari text uses Noto Sans Devanagari. Check the result for a close visual match.
- PDFs up to 50 MB and 300 pages; up to 20,000 changes and 1,000 characters per line. Each change replaces one line as the PDF stores it. Tested in Chrome on a laptop: replacing a name on all 300 pages (12,000 lines) took about 6 seconds to find and 2 seconds to save; a 49 MB scan-sized PDF opened and saved in under 3 seconds. Phones are slower.
- Scanned pages have no editable text: use OCR Desk. Password-protected PDFs need unlocking first. Digital signatures on the PDF become invalid after any edit. Text inside form fields and annotations is not edited.
- Your PDF stays in this browser.
