Redact PDF
Remove selected areas from a new, flattened PDF. Black boxes are painted into fresh page images before the new PDF is built. The original file stays unchanged.
Up to 20 pages and 25 MB. Password-protected PDFs and digital-signature fields are not supported.
Choose a PDF to begin.
Turn on drawing, then drag over the complete area to remove. Drawing is off by default so touch users can scroll. Drag an existing box to move it; select it and drag its bottom-right handle to resize. Escape cancels a drag. Arrow keys nudge it by 0.5%; Shift + arrow uses 0.1%. Delete removes it. The export covers one extra pixel around each edge.
Export a redacted copy
Every page is rebuilt from PNG pixels. Text becomes unsearchable, and forms, comments, links, attachments, layers and source metadata are not copied. Existing text outside marked areas remains visible as pixels. Rendering is capped at 4× PDF point dimensions. Image quality depends on the chosen resolution; inspect fine print and every marked area. Up to 100 MB of rendered PNGs.
